Covanta Energy has appointed Andy Yeomans to develop the UK business as part of its ongoing expansion into the UK market. Andy will be working to develop new business with local authorities for Covanta and will be focusing on the Energy from Waste (EfW) sector.
Andy joins Covanta from DeltaRail, where he managed bids for large public sector customers such as the Department of Transport. Prior to this, Andy worked for Babcock International for four years in Business Development and was primarily involved with major Support Service bids (including PFI bids) to national bodies such as the Ministry of Defence and the Nuclear Decommissioning Agency.
Covanta Energy Managing Director, Malcolm Chilton, said: "Andy's appointment is very important to us and we are delighted to have him on board for the CIWM 2007 conference. His technical knowledge, combined with his experience in working with large public sector bodies, make him a real asset to us. I am sure he will be a great addition to the UK team."
Andy has over five years experience of managing corporate contracts for large governmental organisations as well as over 20 years experience as a Technician and Seaman Officer in the Royal Navy. He is the most recent addition to Covanta in the UK and joins Mark Ashby and Judith Harper, to complete the Business Development Team.
