Consolidated Environmental Statement - vol1
A Consolidated Environmental Statement (CES) was published in October 2010. This CES was updated in July 2011 following a direction made by the Secretary of State on 8 April 2011 under Regulation 19 of the Town and Country Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) (England and Wales) Regulations 1999, requesting Covanta to provide further environmental information, and specifically to:
“…. undertake an assessment of the likely significant effects of CHP connections from the proposed EfW plant to all buildings on Midpoint 18 Phases 1, 2 and 3 (whether existing, permitted or indicative) in terms of their effects on the habitats of protected species, and especially on European protected species, together with appropriate mitigation measures….”
Sections of the CES that have been updated by this additional environmental information are clearly identified below and, within the published documents, the additional text is presented in a pink colour wash so as to clearly distinguish it from the text published in October 2010 CES.
